Pincoffs has a long history of trading in Asia, with a long-established network of quality mills and manufacturers. While most of the company’s Asian resources are located in Taiwan and China, Pincoffs is also active in India, Korea and several Southeast Asian countries.

MPCI operates two wholly-owned subsidiary companies in Asia; Maurice Pincoffs Company, Inc. Taiwan Branch in Taipei, Taiwan and Shanghai Maurice Pincoffs Company in Shanghai, PRC. These companies are separate legal entities with full import and export capabilities. The Taipei office is a stand-alone operation, while the Shanghai office is supported by offices in three other Chinese cities. 

Pincoffs’ activities in Taiwan date back almost forty years. Making the first purchases in China in the early 1980s, Maurice Pincoffs was an early importer from the region, pioneering trade that many would follow in later years. The company’s traders and executives, from Houston and Canada, travel there extensively, working closely with Asian subsidiaries. By meeting with employees and suppliers several times a month, Pincoffs maintains excellent relationships and ensures quality and reliability throughout the supply chain. 

Today, the focus of the subsidiaries in Taiwan and Shanghai is to fulfill the sourcing requirements of the company’s US and Canadian operations, though further trading opportunities are planned. In the next few years, Pincoffs will expand operations and scope to engage in third-country trading, as well as exporting goods from North America to China and other developing nations in Asia. Pincoffs employs all the resources to manage each step in the flow of goods to and from Asia, and can help almost any US producer establish a beachhead in what will soon become the world’s largest consumer market.
